...The main goal of the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) project in Taita-Taveta is to develop and implement adaptation strategies and measures that will strengthen the resilience of vulnerable smallholder farmers, agro-pastoralists and pastoralists in the Horn of Africa to climate variability and change. ICPAC, Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) are collaborating with National Meteorological and hydro logical services (NMHSs) from Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya in the implementation of the project at specific locations within the three countries. Taita-Taveta County was the study site in Kenya. Baseline data and information was identified as a key foundation of all the project activities. A workshop was organized in Naivasha to undertake baseline climate data analysis in the three countries between April 15 and 19 and was followed by country site workshops
